Land and Table offers frequent events to connect, educate, and inspire new agrarians, young farmers, homesteaders, local food lovers, and anyone interested in self-reliant living and regenerative agriculture.
Since late 2011 we have been hosting monthly potlucks at various farms, cultural centers, and other venues around the Lynchburg, Virginia region.
We are currently working on expanding the events we offer. Check out below some opportunities to get engaged:
POTLUCKS
We’ve been hosting monthly potlucks for over a decade! Join us on the evening of the third Tuesday of the month (Bedford County) or the third Saturday of the month (Amherst) for networking, community building, skillsharing, forums, work parties, topical presentations, and more.
L&T BOOK CLUB
Join us every first Thursday at the Bedford Public Library for a discussion of the previous month’s book. This book club is a way to engage with the core ideas and topics important to the local food movement.
WORKSHOPS
Our monthly potlucks have provided a platform for skillsharing and learning but they are usually very limited in scope due to time. We want to host and facilitate more in-depth workshops on topics that we often cover in our monthly potlucks. Having something you want to teach? Coming in 2023!

Tax Basics For Small Farms | Bedford (5/16)
Are you the owner of a small farm enterprise, or thinking of starting one? Are you making the most of the nuances in the tax code as it relates to your small farm? Join us Tuesday, May 16 (6-8pm) at the Sedalia Center for a community potluck and talk by professor of law Rodney Chrisman, as he provides an overview on small farm tax basics.
L&T Book Club: In Defense of Food – Discussion (5/4)
Throughout the month of April the L&T Book Club is reading award winning author Michael Pollan’s book: In Defense of Food. Join us as we discuss this thought-provoking book and it’s examination of our modern American diet on Thursday, April 6 (6:30-8:00pm).
Seed Swap & Networking Potluck | Bedford (4/18)
Gardening season is upon us! Join us for our Spring Seed Swap and networking potluck on Tuesday, April 18 (6-8pm) at Mountain Run Farm (Camp Sedalia) in northern Bedford County.
