Celebrate Local: Food, Music, Community
Join us Saturday, November 7 (12-4pm) for Local Love 2026, our third annual farm-to-table fall fundraiser at Mountain Run Farm, featuring a bluegrass concert with the band New Standard. Local Love is a celebration of local farms, local food, local music, local community, and the literal common ground beneath our feet. Enjoy mountain views, delicious food, incredible music, and more – all for a great cause!
Proceeds go to our work in advancing eco-agriculture, advocating for small family farms, and catalyzing a strong local food system in the Lynchburg, VA region. Our goal for this year’s fundraiser is $6,000. Join us!

This is a ticketed event. Reserve your spot for:
- $30 (online) per person (13 and up)
- $40 (at the gate) per person (13 and up)
- Kids: FREE (12 and under)

Land & Table is a small 501(c)3 non-profit. Proceeds from our Fall Fundraiser go towards supporting:
- Our work of catalyzing a local food system in the Lynchburg, VA region.
- Projects like: our regional food guide Local Food Lynchburg, Free Seed Library.
- Our advocacy for small family farms to regional leaders.
- Educational and networking events.
Our goal for this year’s fundraiser is $6,000. Will you lend a hand?
Come prepared. Bring the following:
- Cash for the Raffle and Pony Rides
- A side dish to share
- A lawn chair for the concert
- Friends and family
- Dress for the weather (this is an outdoor event)
The Land & Table Fall Fundraiser is at Mountain Run Farm‘s Camp Sedalia in northern Bedford County. With breathtaking mountain views and plenty of room to run around it is a family friendly environment for getting immersed in nature and community.

MORE ABOUT MOUNTAIN RUN FARM
Mountain Run Farm is a picturesque family farm owned by Ben and Carly Coleman and the extended Coleman family. Raising grassfed beef and pastured meats since 2001, Ben and Carly have been pioneers in local direct-to-consumer sales for decades and have been integral leaders in the local food movement in the Bedford / Lynchburg, Virginia region. Their vision for healthy soils, healthy grasses, healthy animals, healthy meats, and healthy people, has been and continues to be, an inspiration to many.
Tentative schedule:
12:00 – 12:15: Arrive at Mountain Run Farm
12:30: Welcome + Pig Pickin’ + Potluck
1:00: Pony cart rides ($5), etc
2:00: Raffle! ($10 a ticket, cash only)
2:30: Live bluegrass concert with New Standard
4:00: Concert wraps up.
This is a ticketed event but we invite you to bring something to the table! We will provide a whole locally raised roast pig and farm raised meats, you bring a side to share.
Don’t want to prepare a side dish? Just bring some nice bread and real butter 🙂
Here are some other pointers:
– This time we will provide dishware.
– Keep it healthy. No junky food.
– Keep it yummy.
– You can make your food…or buy it.
– Include a small paper or index card with your dish explaining key ingredients – especially if the food you bring includes allergens like nuts, red meats, gluten, dairy, etc.
(If you forget, don’t worry! We have index cards you can use)
– Come to make friends! Don’t assume everyone knows each one. This is a community potluck designed to facilitate networking and relationship building.
– Scared to come alone? Bring a friend! Not scared? Bring a friend anyway!
– Do not bring your dog unless it is a service animal.
– Please no alchohol.
– This is a family friendly event! Younger kids must be attended by an adult during the event.
– No membership to Land & Table is required (we currently don’t offer a membership)
– Potluck food is not coordinated. Bring what you will.
– Eating will start around 12:30pm.

Q: Is this a family friendly event?
A: Yes, bring the whole family!
Q: What should I bring to the potluck?
A: Something that pares well with roasted pork meat. We’ll leave it up to you. But a side dish or dessert is welcome. You get extra points for the food being yummy and healthy 🙂
Q: Can I bring my dog?
A: No dogs please. Exceptions can be made ahead of time for service dogs.
Q: Will there be a bathroom?
A: Yes, a bathroom will be available.
Q: Do I need to be a Land & Table member to attend?
A: No, this event is open to the community.
Q: What happens if it rains?
A: This is a rain or shine event. If there is non-threatening but rainy weather we will seek shelter and party on!

Pig Pickin' & Potluck
Over a decade ago we started hosting monthly potlucks, building community, and hosting skillshares, forums, and hands on demonstrations.
Our annual fall fundraiser is a time to celebrate the harvest, and raise funds to financially support our work in connecting and catalyzing the local food movement in the Lynchburg, VA region.

New Standard bluegrass concert
New Standard is a traditional and hard driving bluegrass band from central and western Virginia. They bring together a variety of styles and influences ranging from traditional music to contemporary bluegrass and gospel artists.
