Drought Resistant Farm & Garden (May 16)

Weather is one of the main aspects of farming and gardening that we wish we could control. It seems we are often praying for rain clouds to come, or go! And yet, maybe there are some things we can do to help our plants build resilience against stresses caused by the volatility of the weather. Drought is an especially unique challenge and right now in Virginia it is impacting the growing season in a big way. Are there ways we can farm and garden to help our plants navigate the stresses of drought?
Join us Saturday, May 16 (5-7pm) at Brooklyn Hills Ranch, in Amherst County, for a potluck and skillshare as we look into best practices for raising drought-resistant plants holistically. Lead by farming couple, Fred and Amber Lyssy, this monthly group is focused on health from soil to body and everything in-between. If you are a home grower or homesteader you don’t want to miss this.
All are welcome – you do not need to be a Land & Table member to attend. This event is open to the public and is family friendly*. We just ask that you RSVP.
*A parent is required to attend children throughout the event. Child-care is not provided.
