RSVP For This Event
Join us Tuesday, July 16 (6-8pm) at Little Otter Flower Farm in Bedford, Virginia for a potluck, farm tour, and walking conversation on therapeutic care farming, autism awareness, and how growing flowers can lead to human flourishing, in community. Farms are places for growing things and in the case of Little Otter Flower Farm they are “growing flowers, people, and community”. Jen Kohn and her son Max head up this family business that is doing so much more than cultivating flowers.
The Kohns started the flower farm for Max, who has Autism. Sadly, the unemployment rate among folks with Autism is around 80%, so they decided to start a family business! The Kohns have not only created space for Max to pursue his full potential but they also are passionate about providing job and life skills through training for others with autism through a three-month rolling farm internship.
Don’t miss this important farm tour as we learn more about how one family is pressing into community, advocacy, and change, amidst fields of flowers.
