We are living in a season of rising economic and political instability. Markets and supply chains are in rapid flux, while new forms of toxic tribalism are driving conflict both near and far. In this cultural context more and more people are looking to self-reliant living as a means to a new way of life – one that is more resilient and can weather times of crisis better than the typical consumerist lifestyle.

Join us on Tuesday, June 18 (6-8pm) at Little Rustic Homestead in Huddleston, Virginia (Bedford County) for a farm tour and walking discussion on how to create a low cost homestead with maximum resilience in mind. We will be looking at best practices for:

  • Raising Chickens
  • Water Catchment
  • Organic Gardening

  • Keeping a Home Orchard

  • Mutual Aid with Neighbors
  • Knowing Your Land

  • And more.

This will be a follow up to last year’s event: The Budget Homestead.
