This is a FREE event, but we ask that you consider financially supporting our work.

Mead is the oldest form of alcoholic beverage in human civilization – enjoyed by ancient cultures all over the world. Fermented with three simple ingredients: honey, yeast, and water, it stands in a class of it’s own, distinct from wine and beer. What is the story of this ancient drink, and what does it take to master the process of making glorious mead?

Join us for our main monthly Land & Table potluck on Tuesday, May 21 (6-8pm) at Mountain Run Farm’s Camp Sedalia.

We will be hearing from John Graham of Graham Ordinary, a unique lodge and meadery near the Peaks of Otter and Blue Ridge Parkway. John will give an informal talk on: the history of mead, the modern mead making process, keeping honey bees, and the story behind their family’s mountain lodge and meadery here in Bedford County. We will end the evening with a time of question and answer. Don’t miss this fascinating exploration of mead!
