Join us on Tuesday, November 14 (6-8pm) at the Sedalia Center in northern Bedford County, for the ’12 Year Land & Table Anniversary Potluck’!
Back in November 2011 a few of us sat around a small farm table and asked two important questions:
1. “What do we want from regional leaders to help grow and support the local food movement?”
2. “What will we do to grow and support the local food movement?”
Those questions turned into monthly discussions and those discussions turned into potlucks. Now after over a decade of community-building, and skillsharing around a common passion for local food and ecologicial agriculture, it is time to break out the Land & Table ‘family’ album – laugh, cry, and look at lessons learned along the way as we give thanks for all we’ve been given.
We also will be discussing our newly earned status as a 501c3 non-profit organization and the vision for working towards a thriving, resilient local food system in the Lynchburg, Virginia region, that will have long-lasting positive impacts for generations to come.
If you have been involved in Land & Table events at any time over the years please consider coming to share memories together. We’ve love for you to share what Land & Table has meant to you 🙂 If you are new to the L&T community, come and get a crash course on our history and our vision for community transformation: social, ecological, and economic – through local food.
This event will also kick off our fundraising efforts to fuel next year’s initiatives (including: expanded workshops + other events, and our region’s first local food guide). If you resonate with our work, and value what we do, we invite you to support Land & Table through your “time, talent, and treasure”.
