With decades of experience in raising meat rabbits, Dawn LeMone will instruct you on everything you need to know to get started. Topics to be covered will include: breed selection, basics of humane rabbit husbandry, tools and equipment, fixed rabbitry setup, health and feeding, breeding, raising kits, butchering instructions (no live demonstration*), cooking and canning rabbit meat, and the benefits of rabbit manure.

This event is part of the ReSkill series of workshops hosted by Land & Table to empower homesteaders, small farm owners, and anyone passionate about local food. Our desire is to revive the timeless agrarian skills of generations past and in turn help relocalize our regional food system.

*A hands-on butchering demonstration will not be offered at this workshop – but may be available via the instructor in other workshops.
