Bramble Hollow Farm and Brent Wills will be giving a basic introduction to the Virginia Association for Biological Farming (VABF), the primary organization in the state of Virginia concerned with organic and biological farming and gardening since 1978. About Bramble Hollow Farm For thirteen years Brent and Anna of Bramble Hollow Farm, in Montvale (located on the eastern edge of Bedford County) have been raising pastured poultry and pork in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. Long-time members of the Land and Table farming community, Brent and Anna have built their small family farm from the ground up with a focus on sustainability, ecological practices, heritage breeds, and pasture-based humane animal husbandry. Bramble Hollow provides their GMO-free, pastured meats directly to customers, is currently the exclusive supplier of chickens to Local Roots, a farm-to-table restaurant in Roanoke and their chicken is available through Homestead Creamery’s home delivery service. Brent is also a soil consultant and the newly elected president of the Virginia Association for Biological Farming (VABF). This will be an exciting opportunity to network with others in the regional local food movement, get inspired by the Bramble Hollow Farm tour, and learn about the work that VABF is doing at a statewide level. ======================== WHERE: Bramble Hollow Farm (with Brent and Anna Wills) Address: 2108 Hutchens Road Montvale, Virginia 24122 (eastern edge of Bedford County (Montvale – towards Roanoke) WHEN: Tuesday, September 19 (5-8pm) 5:00-5:45 | Arrive and network 5:45-6:45 | Eat and network 6:45-8:00 | VABF intro and Farm Tour WHAT TO BRING:
