Land and Table: Christmas Party (Dec 4)

Local food movement mixer, open mic and potluck.[/caption] In January we will resume our local food forums as we discuss how to translate our Bedford Land and Table monthly gatherings into a broader movement throughout the wider community. Our hope is that one day the Lynchburg regional area, Central Virginia and the entire state will be known for it’s innovative and effective cultivation of the local food movement. But…meanwhile, it’s time to celebrate the Holidays! Christmastime is quickly approaching and we want to kick off the season with some Christmas cheer. We want to invite all of you out to our Land and Table: Christmas Party! Our December 4th gathering will be a Local Food Movement mixer, potluck and open mic. This is a great way to connect with other farmers, gardeners, homesteaders, chefs, wannabees, neighbors, eaters and others involved in food and agriculture. Whether you are a Land and Table regular or you have never come before – don’t miss out on a chance to network, enjoy great food, and…this time there’s a twist! DRESS UP! Come dressed up as your favorite Christmas character or thing – any thing or person related to Christmas and the Christmas season. Be creative! Some ideas include: angel, star, sheep, wisemen, shepherd, elf, reindeer, walking wreath, a present, a candy cane, any barn animal (Jesus was born in a barn!), or…just wear red and green! While coming in costume is totally optional it will exponentially increase your Christmas fun! POTLUCK Bring a healthy, homemade dish to share. These potlucks are the best kept secret in five counties. Help us keep it that way by pouring a little heart and soul into whatever you bring.  Also help us keep trash out of the landfill by bringing your own dishware (plates, silverware, etc). We’ll provide a washing station. OPEN MIC Calling all musicians, poets and performers! We’re looking for Christmas songs, poems, stories and more. Must be family friendly.
