Roanoke Area Land and Table gathering – September 2012: “All About Bees”[/caption] Land and Table is branching out! We are pleased to have our friends Ian and Carolyn Reilly and Dave and Betty Werner of Four Corners Farm in Rocky Mount, Virginia to be the coordinators and hosts of the ‘Roanoke Area’ Land and Table Network. They have begun hosting monthly potlucks/gatherings at their farm so if you’re in the Roanoke area check out what they have going on at their September gathering (details below).
WHEN: Tuesday, September 11, 2012 Join us as at Four Corners Farm as we share a community potluck meal and hear from local beekeeper, Jeff Jenner. Jeff is the “head drone” at his homestead, Turkey Ridge Farm, in Boones Mill, VA, as well as an instructor for the Franklin County bee club, The Moonshine Beekeepers. Jeff also raises local regional Queens for other beekeepers. He will be talking about changes in beekeeping from the past to the future and why environmental changes are continuing to involve beekeeping.
