six years ago – has grown to a living network of people, families, farms, and businesses, all with a passion for ‘growing local’ in the Lynchburg, Virginia region: local food, local community, and our local economy. In a time and age characterized by a global economy that so easily strips our communities of their local vitality – we believe in healing/reviving the local connections between land and people, agriculture and food, culture and economy, community and cooperation, the past and the future. Land and Table has always been about renewing these connections. Join us Tuesday, November 21 (5 to 8pm) at the Sedalia Center in northern Bedford County, for an open potluck and discussion, as we give thanks for 6 years of monthly gatherings and the life that has sprung from community. We we will be looking back with a time of storytelling, so please consider sharing how Land and Table has impacted and encouraged you – whether as a farmer or local food advocate. We also will be discussing the next phase of Land and Table’s development and how we can take action together to impact the region in more profound ways. You will be presented with opportunities to get more involved with Land and Table in this new season – and invited to consider your unique role as a catalyst for ‘growing local’. If you cannot make it this Tuesday, please consider sending a note to us about any memories you have from our last 6 years of gathering, or how you have been impacted by Land and Table. If you are interested in getting more involved in our work but cannot make it this next potluck, please contact us for volunteer and other opportunities to be a local catalyst. Please note: all newcomers welcome. This is a family-friendly event but there is no childcare.
