You may know of turmeric as the commonly used spice in Indian and Asian food, or as a natural food colorant because of it’s golden yellow color, but do you know about turmeric’s medicinal properties? Join us on Tuesday, February 13th for a community potluck and an introduction by Gareth Phillips to the basics of turmeric’s health benefits and the best way to get your daily dose (Golden Milk or Chia Curry Coffee anyone?). Gareth is a musician, a writer and a passionate advocate for the integration of delicious cuisine and healing ingredients.
These monthly gatherings are a great way to build community with other farmers, gardeners, homesteaders, agrarians, local food advocates, and anyone who is interested in getting back to the land and back to the kitchen.
(Please note: the Appomattox monthly gathering meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month. The Lynchburg/Bedford monthly gathering meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month)
