A Johnson-Su bioreactor sounds like a weapon of mass destruction but it actually is a unique way to produce microbial rich BEAM (Biologically Enhanced Agricultural Management) compost. This composting method can provide huge returns for your soil and plant health.

Join us at the farmstead of Mark and Allison Angellini of Mountain Run Permaculture in Sedalia (northern Bedford County) on Tuesday, July 26 (6-8pm).

Mark will be going over how to construct a Johnson-Su bioreactor and will be discussing the importance of managing the soil microbiome – something that is often overlooked when considering soil health and fertility. If we cultivate microbes at a microscopic level, they will enhance the vitality of our soil and in turn the plants. This is a missing link in many gardening and farming methods. Don’t miss this provocative look into the unseen world of soil microbes through this “super” composting method.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

– Bring a main dish to share. This is a potluck.
(Or your own dinner if you do not want to participate in the potluck).
