Since November 2011 Land and Table has been cultivating a network of independent & sustainable farmers, organic gardeners, homesteaders, locavores, new agrarians, natural health advocates, and others who are passionate about local food and self-reliant living in the Lynchburg, Virginia regional area.
We host (now two!) monthly community potlucks open to anyone who is interested, that can include: networking, guest speakers, hands-on learning, community building, work parties, presentations or topical forums. Our gatherings are open to everyone in the community. Save the date for the first Tuesday (Appomattox gathering) or third Tuesday (Lynchburg/Bedford gathering) of each month (watch this website a week or two before the next event for locations and details), typically 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm (eating usually begins around 5:45pm – forum/special speaker/etc starts at 6:45pm). Children are welcome and we generally ask everyone to bring a healthy, homemade dish to share, and your own dishware (cups, plates, utensils, etc).
There is currently no membership involved but if you benefit from and appreciate what we do, at each monthly potluck we encourage a voluntary cash donation of any amount to help keep the project going.*
