Lynchburg Grows is a non-profit urban farm in the city of Lynchburg with a heart for growing the greater good of the community in all they do. Their work includes: vocational training for people with disabilities, mobile veggie van that serves ‘food desert’ areas in the city, CSA (community supported agriculture), a new composting program, events and more. Join us this Tuesday, May 16 for an open community potluck, and farm tour of the Lynchburg Grows greenhouses and grounds. Don’t miss this chance to discover more about this incredible asset to our community and how you can get involved in their work of cultivating community abundance and good food. (Parking: From Englewood st., take the driveway in front of the greenhouses and turn on the driveway to the right. It’s a very obvious parking lot. If you come from Rutherford st., drive up the driveway and take the driveway to the left. again, very obvious parking lot.)
WHEN: Tuesday, May 16 (5-8pm) 5:00-5:30 | Arrive, network, start eating 5:45-6:45 | Eat together, network, wrap up eating 6:50-8:00 | Lynchburg Grows urban farm tour (it’s a fairly compact location so there will not be alot of walking) WHAT TO BRING:
  • Cash or check donation for Lynchburg Grows (this is optional but let’s make an effort to bless them!)
  • Healthy food to share (please label with tape)
  • Your own dishware (plate or bowl, cup, silverware ,etc)
  • A lawn chair if you want more comfortable seating
