Lynchburg Grows CSA: Join now! Lynchburg Grows CSA: Join now![/caption] Hopefully you are all familiar with Lynchburg Grows, the non-profit urban farm in downtown Lynchburg. Their work in the community is both unique and indispensable as they have worked (and continue to work) to transform the land they cultivate, the greenhouse buildings in their care, the people who get their hands in the dirt with them and everyone who comes in contact with their outreach programs. It is this kind of ongoing transformation that needs to spread throughout the entire region- using sustainable agriculture, and healthy food access to help cultivate community and transform lives. You can read more about their work: here. One of the services Lynchburg Grows provides is a CSA (aka: ‘community supported agriculture’). In partnership with a network of farms within a 50 mile radius, Lynchburg Grows provides fresh produce shares from May 8th until the last week in October 2013. While the CSA has been in full swing there is still time to join for the rest of the growing season at a reduced cost of around $270. If you are not currently supporting a local farm by belonging to a CSA, please consider investing in both Lynchburg Grows and your personal health (and the health of your family).
